The book My System is considered by many to be the most important book in chess literature. Written in 1925 and translated into Portuguese in 2007, this book has been used by generations of players around the world. Its author, Aaron Nimzovitsch (Riga 1886-Copenhagen 1935), one of the most prominent players of his time, is considered the father of the Hypermodern School of chess. This school revolutionized the theoretical approach to the game and is the basis for the development of chess over the last 95 years. Many elite players, such as former World Champion Tigran Petrosian, have used the study of My System as the source of their development in their sports careers.
